

Annual Dinner & Silent Auction
Join Bike Santa Cruz County in celebrating 28 years of promoting bicycling through advocacy, education, and community engagement. Our 2019 Annual Dinner & Silent Auction will be held in the Chris G. Matthews Hall at the Santa Cruz County Veterans Memorial Building, a gorgeous venue that we look forward to filling with Bike Santa Cruz County supporters like you!
This year's event features an amazing silent auction of items donated from local businesses and artists, handcrafted cuisine by Chef Mickey Phelps, local wine and beer, and our Wheelie Awards - honoring community members making an impact on the County's cycling culture. Meet fellow Bike Santa Cruz County supporters, our board members, staff, and volunteers.
Join us as we raise a toast to Bike Santa Cruz County's successes over the past year, and help us pedal forward into our future endeavors!
All ticket sales and auction proceeds will directly support Bike Santa Cruz County.

Light Up the Night 2019
You are invited to the 6th annual Light Up the Night - a bike light giveaway, and well-lit community ride! We'll be giving out bike lights on first-come, first-served basis, so plan to arrive early.
Cyclists of all ages and skill levels are welcome, and bike flair and costumes are encouraged. Prizes will be awarded for brightest bike, brightest rider and most creative get-up.
In addition to giving out lights, we are offering a number of activities to make it easy and fun to be visible and safe on your bike. From 5:30pm to 6:30pm, activities will include bike decorating, including making reflective spoke cards, custom helmet stenciling, and a raffle with visibility-related prizes.
The ride rolls out at 6:30pm and should return to the Tannery by about 8pm. This event is being organized by Bike Santa Cruz County and The Tannery to encourage safe night riding in Santa Cruz County.

Run by the Sea
Run by the Sea returns to lovely Wilder Ranch State Park on Sunday, October 27th! This unique 12K run, 4K run/walk, or half marathon meanders along the gorgeous coastal bluffs of California's Central Coast in Santa Cruz and consists mostly of flat, packed dirt trails. Participants will enjoy scenic coastal views while passing along the bluffs, through a unique beach crossing (12K and half marathon only), and Wilder Ranch park trails. Now in its seventh year, Run by the Sea is organized by and is a benefit for Bike Santa Cruz County. Open Streets Santa Cruz
The 7th annual Open Streets Santa Cruz will be held on Sunday, October 13th! This beloved community event will once again transform West Cliff Drive into a car-free, pop-up street park. Click here to find out more and apply for your organization to participate today!

Climate Ride's Green Fondo
Join Green Fondo, the cycling party that engages an energized community and benefits the sustainability revolution. The Green Fondo takes place at a beautiful 1700 acre ranch and includes world-class cycling routes in Marin and Sonoma County, good food, and inspiring evenings. Take a weekend to pedal for the planet and be a part of creating a positive impact for the future. Our own executive director Gina Cole will be taking part in the ride along with Jules, the owner of the Watsonville Cyclery and a supporter of BSCC.

August Bike Party
The Santa Cruz Bike Party is a mobile bike party for riders of all ages and skill levels. It takes place on the second Friday of each month. Rides move relatively slowly, leaving nobody behind. The ride usually leaves from The Bike Church at 7:15 pm.

Bike the Bay 2019
Bike Santa Cruz County’s annual youth bike tour from Santa Cruz to Monterey will be taking place from August 3rd to August 5th. This trip is for anyone 14 - 20 years old. Even though the ride is over 100 miles in a weekend, it is surprisingly doable for anyone with some biking experience. For more information about the ride, visit the event page on our website.

Watsonville Bike Party - Superhero Theme!
Come down to the Watsonville Cyclery to join the local bike community in brightening up the streets! Wear your superhero outfits and come at 6:30 to decorate your helmets and to make masks. Bring the whole family! The ride will begin at 7:00 and ride to Callaghan Park, where we will be watching the Captain Underpants movie. MBOSC Coast Dairies Trail Access Meeting Davenport
Action Alert: The BLM has two upcoming public meetings where they will be seeking public input on how the property should be managed. One meeting will be at the Louden Nelson Community Center on July 17th from 6:30 to 8:30 and the other at Pacific Elementary School from 6:30 to 8:30 on the 18th. Please make time to attend one of these meetings to speak up for trail access! The MBOSC have provided a detailed list of important talking points to bring up at the meeting so that we can start moving forward with mountain bike trail access on this new property! Pleasure Point Street Fair
This street fair will have a total of six local bands that will perform a variety of styles of music on two stages, kids activities, skateboard contest, and a beer garden. Vendors will be selling art, local services, as well as great food. The event will be held on Portola Drive between 41st and 38th Avenues, Santa Cruz, from 11 am – 5 pm with bike parking available from Bike Santa Cruz County, and admission is free. The event will benefit the Live Oak Education Foundation this year.

Open Streets Watsonville
Open Streets Watsonville is an event where streets in Watsonville will be closed to cars and open only to pedestrians and cyclists! This community event will have pop-up events on city streets, live music, non-profits, and will be free as well as family friendly. Open streets aims to build community, spark ideas for using public spaces in new and creative ways, and promote healthy and active outdoor lifestyles. Play It Forward Santa Cruz
Play It Forward is an all-ages festival of creative playshops, feel-good music and fun experiences that demonstrate how play can transform lives and strengthen communities. The Santa Cruz Public Libraries and the City of Santa Cruz Parks and Recreation organize the event to build community and promote local companies and non-profits. Bike to Work Day
This year’s bike to work day is almost here, giving everyone an opportunity to ditch their car and enjoy a day on two wheels in our amazing community! All riders get a free breakfast as well as a chance to win an ebike. More information is available on Ecology Actions bike to work website.

Old Cabin Classic
The fourth annual Old Cabin Classic is taking place this year at Wilder Ranch State Park! The event is a homage to this iconic venue and a testament to the partnership between California State Parks and the mountain bike community who are working together to make our local trails the best they can be. Funds raised from the race go towards promoting mountain biking in Santa Cruz, and a significant portion goes directly to a fund earmarked for trail development at Wilder Ranch. Bike Night First Friday
To celebrate the launch of bike month, Bike Night First Friday will be held at the Museum of Art and History in downtown Santa Cruz. During the event Cooper street will be closed and Bike Santa Cruz County will be providing bike valet parking. The MAH and BSCC will both be hosting bike related activities for all ages, so bring your bike and your family to help kick off bike month! Bike Santa Cruz County is in need of volunteers for this event, so please sign up on the volunteer sign up page.

Watsonville Earth Day/Day of the Child
Families and residents of all ages are encouraged to attend this free event to learn about the ways that they can have lower impacts on the environment. There will be over 70 booths of recreation, crafts and learning, as well as performances, a jump house, and more. The Day of the Child is a Latin American tradition honoring youth, which is reflected in the theme of this year’s event, which is #NuestraPlanetaNuestraHijos.
Over a third of the activities will be guided and developed by middle and high school students to get future leaders involved with environmentalism and to celebrate the generations of the future. This year’s Earth Day will help promote the Plastic Free Campaign that Watsonville is a part of as well. More information is available on the City of Watsonville’s website.

Earth Day Santa Cruz
Santa Cruz’s Earth Day is an annual event to help raise environmental awareness, display solutions, and present balanced modes of living for Santa Cruz citizens. The community event aims to motivate and educate Santa Cruz residents of all ages on local and global environmental realities and how to decrease their impact. There will be live music, arts and crafts, kids activities, and many local green businesses and non profits. Ecology Action, the city, and the county host the event to celebrate our natural resources and to allow local schools, organizations, and government agencies to network. Looking for free bike lights and a night of cycling fun? Bike Santa Cruz County, Bike Friendly Watsonville and Watsonville Cyclery invite you to Light Up the Night community ride, a bike light giveaway, and well-lit community ride on Friday, March 29th at Watsonville Cyclery.

We will give out dozens of free lights on a first-come, first-served basis, so plan to arrive early.

The community ride will depart promptly at 7pm and arrive back at Watsonville Cyclery by 8:00pm. Cyclists of all ages and skill levels are welcome. Bike flair and costumes encouraged - brilliant PRIZES will be awarded for BRIGHTEST BIKE, BRIGHTEST RIDER, and MOST CREATIVE GET-UP. To crank things up a notch, SC Bike Party will provide the tunes, with their on-bike sound systems.

Buscas luces gratis para la bicicleta y así poder montar de noche? Bike Santa Cruz County, Bike Friendly Watsonville y Watsonville Cyclery te invitan a iluminar la noche en comunidad, habrán luces de regalo y montaremos en bicicleta todos juntos el Viernes, Marzo 29 donde nos encontraremos en Watsonville Cyclery,
6:00 - 7:00 pm - Luces gratis, Actividades iluminadas y rifas.
7:00 - 8:00 pm - Paseo comunal en bicicleta con regalos asombrosos.
Regalaremos docenas de luces gratis a los primeros que lleguen al evento, así que intenta llegar temprano.

ILUMINEMONOS
Adicionalmente a las luces gratis, estaremos ofreciendo diferentes actividades divertidas para facilitar la visibilidad y seguridad del ciclista durante la noche y los meses oscuros de invierno! De 6pm a 7pm, las actividades programadas incluyen decoración para la bicicleta de alta visibilidad, donde se harán tarjetas reflectivas, decoracion de cascos, y rifas con premios reflectivos.
